Paul is a Senior Vice President of KPMG Forensic Inc. and a Partner of KPMG LLP in Canada, and leads the Forensic practice in Alberta. Paul joined KPMG in 1981 and has worked in KPMG’s Waterloo and Calgary offices.
Paul has extensive experience in managing investigations for governments, corporations and non-profit organizations. His experience includes fraud and corporate investigations, funds tracing, internal audit assistance, assessments of internal control strengths and weaknesses, procurement reviews, litigation and dispute resolution. Paul has performed investigative accounting analyses and provided advice in connection with criminal investigations involving fraud (employee, management, supplier and investor), kickbacks, secret commissions and bid rigging.
Paul has testified in court on more than 25 occasions related to reports he has prepared. He has also worked with the RCMP, the OPP and municipal police forces. Paul has provided numerous presentations to business groups, law enforcement agencies and other professional organizations on the topics of forensic accounting and fraud awareness, and has been a regular guest lecturer at the Ontario Police College on the topic of forensic investigations.
