Liezel is a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Forensic Technology practice in Alberta. With 12+ years of experience in advanced data analytics, forensic data analytics, data governance and strategic alignment, enterprise risk management, fraud risk management, forensic investigations, information technology security assurance, Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs), and quality assurance. Liezel compliments her deep technical knowledge, skills, and experience with an investigative mind-set and passion to solve problems and identify data insights, investigative issues, and execute complex procedures.
Liezel’s career started in South Africa, and she has worked with clients across the world, with operations in Africa, Australia, North America, Germany, and the United States. Liezel helps clients identify data insights, investigative issues, execute complex procedures, and provide guidance to clients with the development and implementation of analytics solutions that triggers actions to minimize downtime, optimize cost, create efficiencies, identify fraud, waste, abuse, or misconduct, and support facts, evidence, and artifacts collected during forensic investigations with advanced forensic analysis conclusions. She provides guidance and support to clients ranging from privately owned business to large multi-national corporations and across different industries including power and utilities, oil & gas, precious metals/mining, agriculture, retail/consumer markets, education, transportation industries, and provincial and local/municipal governments.
