Natalie Lalonde has over 20 years of internal audit experience. Since May 2022, she has been the Chief Audit Executive at Global Affairs Canada. Previously, she held the position of Director General of the Internal Audit and Evaluation Directorate at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Head of Internal Audit at the Department of Canadian Heritage, Director of Audit at Global Affairs Canada and Health Canada. She also worked at the Department of Finance and Public Services and Procurement Canada, still in internal audit.
She is a Chartered General Accountant (CPA, CGA). I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration (accounting) from the University of Quebec in Outaouais and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences with a specialization in economics from the University of Ottawa.
She has been appointed to the IIA Canada Board of Directors in April 2021. She is co-chair of the Internal Audit Innovation Advisory Committee (which aims to promote innovation in internal audit and learn how internal audit can support innovation in departmental operations) and member of several committees of the Office of the Comptroller General to support and promote internal audit in the Government of Canada (talent management and transformation).
