Leah White

Leah White, CPA, CA, CIA, CISA, CRMA, PCI QSA, CISM, is the Partner responsible for Grant Thornton LLP’s Risk Services within the Atlantic region and resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is passionate about internal audit and works with a wide variety of organizations, in both the private and public sectors, to assist them in achieving their goals through effective governance, risk management and internal control. A frequent presenter on internal audit-related topics, Leah believes in the value of diverse teams, including mixes of people with extroverted and introverted tendencies.

It can sometimes be a challenge for these two groups of people to work or communicate effectively with each other. However, they each bring unique strengths that can contribute significantly to the team’s overall effectiveness. A proud introvert, Leah leverages her experience working with mixed teams to help introverts and extroverts bring out the best in each other.

Leah is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Information Systems Auditor. She holds a Certification in Risk Management Assurance, is a Payment Card Industry Qualified Security Assessor, and has her Certified Information Security Manager designation. Leah also served as the President of the Maritime Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the District Representative for Eastern Canada, and is the current District Advisor for Canada and a member of the Canada Advisory Committee. She is also an active Committee member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Maritime Chapter.
