Paul is a Partner who focuses on Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management. His passion is working collaboratively with clients to add value to their organizations by managing traditional and emerging areas of risk to protect and enhance business value by optimizing risk, focusing spending, and improving performance.

He is a Chartered Accountant (Alberta) with a Masters in Professional Accounting (Saskatchewan). He has worked in Internal Audit and External audit in both Canada and Australia for over 13 years. From 2014 – 2016, he was a member of the Edmonton IIA Board.

Paul has led co-sourced and outsourced internal audits in Australia and Canada. Over the last year, he led the development and management of an interim external intake, assessment, and investigation process for employee harassment and discrimination complaints for the City of Edmonton. It included reviewing the existing process to provide recommendations for the organization to implement as part of their development of a new harassment and discrimination complaints process going forward.

Paul has previously presented to a number of Boards, Management teams, and organziations on the value of internal audit, auditing emerging risks, and on ERM. He has also presented on Internal Audit at the Government of Finance Officers Association Conference in Edmonton, on Conduct and Culture at Deloitte’s Risk Series and D360 in Edmonton and Regina, managing emerging risks to the Institute of Corporate Directors in Edmonton, as well as on audit committee effectiveness and the risk management to Executive Education in Calgary and Edmonton.
