Brandon Bignell is an Ottawa 40 Under Forty award winner with over fifteen years of experience in the private and public sectors. He is the Risk Advisory Services Partner in the National Capital region, where he manages a large team in risk management, audit, evaluation, independent third-party reviews and control engagements.
In 2006 he began his career at the Office of the Auditor General Canada, where he learned the fundamentals and best practices of internal audit. He spent ten years in the public sector, winning a Deputy Minister award for innovation and many other accolades. Brandon moved over to the private sector after a two-year assignment with the Assembly of First Nations. Since then, he has led over a hundred internal audit and internal controls engagements for federal departments, agencies, private companies, not-for-profits and Crown corporations.
He is currently the outsourced internal audit director for multiple corporations and not-for-profits. In addition to his internal audit work, he has led numerous risk engagements, including developing risk profiles and risk management frameworks. Through these engagements, Brandon has assisted client organizations in assessing and mitigating risk and improving business processes and operations. Brandon is also the founder and COO of an NFP that has provided bursaries to local students in need for the past twelve years.
