Marise Bédard has over 20 years of external audit experience in both the public and private sectors.
At the Office of the Auditor General of Canada in 2001, she has worked within teams responsible for financial audits as well as special examinations. Presently, she leads the financial audit of UNESCO, a large United Nations entity. She also led the financial audits of large government-owned corporation such as Canada Post Corporation, Farm Credit Canada and the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Marise also acts as Quality Reviewer for IFRS reporting government-owned corporations, the financial audit of the Government of Canada and for specials examinations.
She has experience in performance audit engagements. She has led the special examinations of Canada Post Corporation, Ridley Terminals Inc., Defense Constructions Canada, PPP Canada Inc., Farm Credit Canada and Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation. She has also led two of the performance audit engagements for projects the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Marise participates in the development of auditing standards, as a member of a task force established by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. Over her career, she has facilitated many technical courses in auditing, demonstrating her commitment to life-long learning and professional development.
