Jim Barbour is a Senior Manager with MNP’s Enterprise Risk Services team. Working out of the Toronto office, Jim draws on more than 20 years of experience in public practice and industry audits, enterprise risk management, internal controls over financial reporting and compliance. Jim works with clients in various industries, including financial services, media and entertainment and consumer product producers, wholesalers and retailers. Jim has extensive experience dealing with large and complex North American financial organizations. Prior to joining MNP, he served in internal audit leadership roles for national retail and banking organizations. Additionally, Jim was a practice leader and consultant at two international accounting and consulting firms.
After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Freed-Hardemen University, Jim became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licenced in Tennessee. He holds the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) and Certified General Managements Accountant (CGMA) designations. Jim is past-president and member of the Board of Governors for the Institute of Internal Auditors, Toronto Chapter. Jim consistently contributes to the profession by writing articles and holding speaking engagements.
