Does EHS audit have a home in Internal Audit?
Uniquely qualified as a CIA, CRMA, CCSA working in operational and EHS auditing. Typically, EHS Auditors have held certification with BEAC, but with the amalgamation into the IIA, a discussion should be considered whereby all assurance activities that support a company’s success and monitors risk, could be managed through a single audit shop. This would entail streamlining the audit processes under a single program (IIA International Professional Practices Framework vs. ISO 19011) and aligning risk assurance practices to mitigate audit fatigue, improve value-added audit and advisory services, and reduce costs of audit and assessment activities.
