Changing Landscape of Auditing Industry: Future of EHS Auditing
The scope and expectations from the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) audits have evolved and expanded significantly over the last few years. Auditors are not only facing ever-growing challenges of higher quality standards, shrinking or stagnant audit budgets, but also stakeholders’ expectations of meaningful audit results that add value to the audit process. The clients are less interested in incidents of non-conformance or non-compliance, rather they are looking for the control failures that have bigger risks. Over the years, some global audit programs have also expanded the scope of EHS auditors to include other ‘extra-financial risks’ through various ESG standards. The presentation will focus on the evolving landscape for EHS auditors, increased expectations of risk-based auditing and expanding scopes and opportunities for the EHS auditors.
