4.4 Driving Digital Trust for Emerging & Disruptive Technologies

The presentation is specifically related to emerging technology assurance which closely relates to the topic chosen given the need for new IT audit techniques and tools required to manage risks related to emerging tech. As the role of Internal Audit is becoming increasingly more important, this session will provide a view on new IT audit techniques that make use of data analytics, machine learning and AI by discussing concrete examples of leading practices across a variety of industries. As well, the presentation will provide a perspective on the evolving role that internal audit needs to play in order to provide the right level of assurance to stakeholders in the organization. While this session is applicable to all industries, a variety of industry-specific use cases will be presented (including public sector), that will provide Internal Auditors into the industry-specific risk considerations when organizations are considering the adoption of emerging technologies.
