3.5 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the workplace – Auditing Accessibility
Level: Intermediate
The presentation will tie directly to the audit topic, providing participants with an overview of the topic, related federal government policy requirements (new), and a summarized methodology and key considerations in conducting an audit in this space. More specifically, the presentation will provide audit guidance and tools for the planning and examination phases of an audit of accessibility, including potential areas of risk to consider, types of audit procedures that can be used and/or tailored to an organization, as well as examples of best practices.
The presenter will provide real-life examples and audit tools used, as they have conducted work in this area for both federal government and NPO clients in the past. The presentation will be conducted in a way that promotes and encourages discussion. Further, the presentation will go beyond a discussion on the topic, but will leave participants with concrete tools and methodologies that can be used and leveraged in performing an audit of accessibility.
