3.2 Building a Strong and Diverse Nimble Assurance Team – Lessons from the field
This session will focus on providing insights into how the Employment and Social Development Canada audit shop has created a dedicated audit team for one of the Canada’s largest transformation programme: the Benefits Delivery Modernization programme. Three years after its creation, the dedicated team is in a unique position within the Government of Canada to share the lessons learned in the rapidly changing world of assurance for large transformation programmes. This session will be given by one of the few audit shop that has an active dedicated nimble assurance team in the Government of Canada.
Recipient of the 2021-2022 Internal Audit Vision Award which recognizes a team who embodies the Internal Audit Value Proposition attributes, the ESDC nimble assurance team is eager to share with the larger public sector community how they have implemented some leading practices in providing real-time assurance on a large transformation project.
